Lake Crescent Conservation Area is located in Putnam County, Florida. The site
is approximately 320 acres and is located within the Crescent Lake Drainage
Basin. Significant habitat within the project site is suitable for: the American
alligator, Pine barrens tree frog, Sherman’s fox squirrel, Florida black bear,
Eastern indigo snake, as well as an extensive wading bird population and other
various mammals and reptiles.
The project site is located adjacent to the Dunn’s Creek State Park, giving this
pristine site a favorable review by St. John’s River Water Management District in
providing mitigation.
Located on the shores of Crescent Lake, the location site has been deemed
regionally significant by St. John’s River Water Management District
Lake Crescent Conservation Area is currently available to offset wetland impacts
in west Volusia, Flagler, and St. John’s Counties. It services the entire Crescent
Lake Drainage Basin- Basin 16.
